Chants, organum and the devil



Ambrosian, Gallican, Mozarabic, Byzantine, Znamenny, Old Roman; Gregorian wasn’t the only type of Christian chant being sung in the Middle Ages. And then; with organum and the Ars Antiqua — Léonin, Pérotin and the Notre Dame School; came the start of polyphony .
The devil? Well…
