Menu suggestion

With the pleasure of a visit to Merlin’s house and garden in the offing, I thought I'd contribute some ideas for amuse bouche. Crunchy scorpion anyone? …or what about a scrumptious cockroach kebab?

The food in China was wonderful but there was always something:
delicious soup, but what was that thing at the bottom? a centipede?? (I ate it anyway!)
I would have cheerfully died for the abalone, but I'm still not sure that the addition of sea-slug did a great deal for it (it had a squishy texture that left me feeling slightly queasy).
…and then there were the live prawns swimming around in a glass of rice wine (passed on that one).
