An American violin concerto

Eight weeks to get from Bach to Adams – something of a mad rush, but I hope that, somewhere along the way, we have managed to explore a few of the musical ideas that are peculiar to the concerto. For this – our final – week I have put together a ‘violin concerto’ from the works of three living American composers: John Adams, John Corigliano and Philip Glass; it should be an interesting 2½ hours.
